[Book Review] Granny’s Easter Eggs Are Not the Sort You Eat, [Author] Becci Murray

With Easter just around the corner, I was so happy to discover that Granny is back, this time with a story that will make you wonder about your own Easter eggs. Written in her trademark humor and accompanied by wonderful illustrations, it offers a genuinely entertaining experience for both kids and adults. As always, the entire family is involved in the adventure, and let me tell you, there are plenty of surprises hidden in those eggs. Rib-tickling from beginning to end and the perfect Easter gift!

My opinion:

It is no secret that Granny is a beloved character in our home, my daughter just adores her adventures, and always has the time of her life whenever a new story is published. What a brilliant idea to create a story just in time for Easter! When I saw the cover, I was sure my daughter will love the story, as she loves both Easter eggs and dinosaurs. We read the story together and laughed so much, taking delight in the author’s brilliant imagination. Becci is one talented special lady, and her books always bring a smile on our faces. And let me tell you that Granny almost seems like a real person, I am an adult, but I am not afraid to admit that I would love to meet her.

The story is written in rhyme, and it will tickle every inch of your bookworm personality. Once again, I love that the Granny books help my daughter learn English, and funny rhymes in particular. You could call this story a tasty treat and you would be right. The chaos this time comes from the Easter eggs granny shares with the rest of her family, with all sorts of critters coming out to surprise its various members. My daughter loved how everyone was agitated at the sight of each egg, wondering what would come out next. The stegosaurus was a pleasant surprise, as she loves dinos so much. What did the last egg hold? You will have to read the book to find out!

It feels so comforting to have books like this one, books that offer simple, pure fun. The new Granny book is a genuine treasure and the author’s sense of humor shines throughout the story, appealing to both the young and the old. Her stories never get boring and are far from predictable, and they remind me of the kind of books I used to read as a child. I was more than happy to read this story to my daughter and now we are planning on having an adventure on our own with Easter eggs. Our imagination knows no limits thanks to Granny!

Verdict:

Leave it to naughty Granny to give her family eggs that are not the sort you eat, as the author so cleverly put its! Well done, we loved this story so much, and had the time of our lives trying to foretell what creature might pop out from each egg. The illustrations are just darling and Granny’s family I think is just like any other family, with chaos guaranteed to make everything fun. We loved the other books in the series and the new story just made our day. Easter will be more fun now, as we will create our own Easter egg hunting adventure. We have a few surprises in store for our own family!
