A wonderful book written by a young author, which satisfies the taste of adventure to perfection. Imagine a magic mirror, which takes you into a story you’ve probably read countless of times. This time, the main characters – Ara and Felice – are traveling into “The Three Little Pigs”, being assigned a very important mission. Will they be able to rescue the pigs? You will have to read the book to find out!
My opinion:
I read this story to my daughter, and she loved it. What a unique twist on a traditional story, one that been loved by many generations until now. I loved it just as much as my daughter, and let me tell you, the unique twist at the end will certainly take you by surprise. When children write books, you can see their creativity practically exploding on the page. Their imagination is endless, and it is practically impossible not to become fascinated with how their mind works. At the same time, the speak to an audience of the same age, which makes their writing thoroughly enjoyable.
Ara and her brother, Felice, are wonderfully contoured, the perfect characters for a unique traveling adventure. How did they get into the story? Well, through the mirror, of course. Why are they there? How do they get home? This sweet and innocent story will reveal everything, and I have to admit that I was impressed with how imaginative it was. An aura of mystery envelops each chapter, with the author having created a fantastic world, one that is filled with magic and adventure. There are some pretty great illustrations in there, which I am sure kids will enjoy.
I was glad to have discovered this story. We read it before bedtime, enjoying the unique imagination of the author. A story in a story, it does not get better than this! The storyline is easy to follow but it’s not boring, so you keep wondering what is going to happen next. I usually love reading twists of famous tales and this particular one did not disappoint. Incidentally, “The Three Little Pigs” is one of my daughter’s favorite tales, so the story kept her hooked until the end.
Verdict:
What a cute story! We enjoyed following the main characters as they entered the story we love, fixing problems and solving mysteries. Getting back home was fun to follow as well! I applaud the young author for having written such an imaginative story, with great illustrations to accompany it. If your child loves classical tales, such as “The Three Little Pigs”, I am sure he/she will love this story as well!
