[Book Review] Will You Ever Meet Me Again, [Author] Dr Om Prakash Yadava

An interesting read bearing the signature of an Indian author, who is also a benefactor, working to help needy people in his native country. The book offered a unique glimpse into a culture that is different from mine, with a story that brought together several important themes, such as going your own way, discovering that life is not what you thought, and ending up in a different place than you expected.

My thoughts:

The author described his book as a “saga of love, sacrifice and commitment”. I agree with his description and I think he did a great job in creating a story that people all over the world can relate to. A young man, coming from a prosperous family, is looking towards a bright future. However, his life will take an unexpected turn; after losing his parents, he will abandon everything, seeking out a different kind of happiness.

Life will bring him closer to a young girl from an underprivileged family. They will fall in love with each other not before long. While dealing with the newfound romance, the young man will also strive to fulfill the ambitions of his late mother. His journey towards happiness is far from straightforward and there are many disruptive elements making things more difficult. What will happen in the end? You will have to read the book to find out.

Even though the story is written in a simple language, it was an enjoyable read. I like reading books that offer me glimpses into other cultures, especially those coming from Indian authors. They write with warmth, their stories having a delicate richness, serving as reminders that emotional anguish is universal.

Verdict:

I know there are many authors out there who have a unique voice and I am so happy to discover them. I enjoyed reading this book and I think the story offers an interesting perspective on the Indian culture, and how difficult it can be to pursue your own path.
