A thriller which poses an interesting perspective on criminal psychology, with well-written characters and an exciting storyline. The book was written by a medical doctor, and I could feel his experience pouring into every page.
My thoughts:
The story begins with the cold murder of a woman, presenting all the necessary elements of a great thriller. Komal, the main character, is an intern at the CBI headquarters and a forensic expert. She begins to work on the case, only to discover that the murders are connected, being drawn to the strange coincidences that keep appearing in relation to these.
In her search for the cold-blooded killer, Komal will have to use her knowledge and practical experience. We are also shown details about her past, how she overcame a terrible childhood and made an effort to have a career. She works hard to solve these terrible murders, with the help of secondary characters, which are just as well written.
I am not going to offer too many details about the story, because I want you to read it for yourself. All I can say is that the book ends with a major cliffhanger, so I guess it is safe to say a sequel is in the works. Throughout the book, you can see the medical knowledge and expertise reflected in the story. The plotline is well-researched and the novel is captivating.
As with other debut novels, I would have liked for the book to be more thoroughly edited. There are typos that influenced the overall reading experience, but the good thing about books nowadays is that writers can go back and re-edit their work.
Verdict:
This was an interesting read, a thriller backed by medical knowledge, with well-developed characters. The author put a lot of effort into describing forensic methods and elements of criminal psychology, and I think this contributed to the overall value of the book.
