[Book Review] Poet’s Pond: Volume II, In Nature’s Poetic Embrace, [Compiled by] Neha Jain

A collection of poetry dedicated to a theme some of the greatest minds in the world have explored for centuries. Nature. Each poem highlights the romantic embrace of nature, and how strongly we are connected to its presence.

I found this collection to be beautiful, each poem reminding me of the beauty of nature. The authors who participated to this anthology have made a genuine effort in conveying their message to the reader, and, upon reading their work, you cannot help but feel touched.

The most important message this poetry compilation tries to present is this: we should all stand together and protect mother nature. An inspiring read from A to Z, with poets from different corners of the world bringing their contribution.

As I dived into nature’s poetic embrace, there were a lot of verses that spoke to me.

“Nature this nature/The beautiful creature/Birds roaming all round/Making so melodious sound/Looking at the tall trees/Feels like a cool breeze/All this natural beauty/Is everyone’s entity.” (Nature o Nature)

“On the bosom of evening sky/Splendor of golden spray/Magnificent reflections on the earth’s face/Is there anything more beautiful” (Transmigration)

“Oh rain, hold us for a long time/Let the coming days be a spring time” (Soliloquy)

“A serene blue yonder/Took my mind to a different world” (Peace)

There were two poems I enjoyed the most.

“Summer diary”, as it reminds me of times long gone, reminding me of the innocence of childhood.

“Watercolor blue”, as its verses depicted poetry in its finest form.

Here is a direct quote from the latter:

“Blue hydrangeas exploding/in the first few months of summer/always remind me of home”.

Verdict:

I absolutely loved the poems included in this book, and I believe this collection to be a treasure for anyone who loves poetry. With nature as central theme, the reader can explore the creations of various poets, falling in love with their intimate thoughts.
