After reading the first book in this duology, I couldn’t not wait to move on the second and see what happens to Cassidy and Harly. Skylar Shoar is an amazing writer and her books are filled with emotional upturns. Someone, she always manages to leave the reader wanting for more, which is also what happened in this case.
My thoughts:
When you read a book written by Skylar Shoar, it is impossible not to feel all the emotions her characters are experiencing. In the first book, I followed Cassidy and Harly, rooting for them to stay together and get their happy end. Now, the story brings us to a different point, with a surprising twist of events.
I am going to keep my review short and sweet, because I do not want to offer any spoilers. What I can say for certain is that there are a lot of things I love about the author’s writing style, including the ability to create an interesting backdrop for her story, the character development, and the ability to pull the reader directly into what happens. Through her writing, she proves that life can take unexpected turns, the difference being made by how one responds.
Without giving anything away, all I can say is that something will threaten the couple’s happily ever after. The author speaks of a phone call that shatters the sanctity of their haven, which speaks directly of how amazing things are between the two characters. The story was amazing to continue, incredibly moving, as it overflowed with emotion. What is going to happen? Of course, you will have to read the book to find out. But, trust me, you are going to love it.
Verdict:
This was an excellent read, just like the first book belonging to this duology. Filled with emotion, it shows that life often includes difficult moments, but love can overcome everything. An emotional and romantic read at the same time, it offers everything you might need for a good cry. Also, if you are looking for another excellent read from this author, be sure to give “Dreams of Fate” a try, as it is just as amazing.
