[Book Review] The Way of the Exiled, [Author] Natasja Rose

A literary fantasy about the future, centered on a coming-of-age story. The author has spun an adventure filled to the brim with cliffhangers, making it easy for the reader to lose himself/herself in its entanglement.

What did I think of the book?

I liked the fact that the author chose to contour the story around a male character, keeping him in the spotlight throughout the entire book. The adventure of Owain begins with a tragedy, but the hero fights to overcome the unfortunate circumstances.

After losing both his family and his home, Owain will flee into exile, accompanied by other survivors. The hero undertakes a serious responsibility, doing his best to keep people alive, including his infant brother. What will happen in the end? You will have to read the book to find out.

It was interesting to see how Owain matured from an innocent child to a man, capable of fighting for the things he wanted. The richness of detail kept me drawn to the story, and I found myself eager to turn one page after the other.

Favorite quote

“Owain was always willing to have someone explain things he was ignorant about. I do not disagree with you, but could you please elaborate?”

Verdict

If you are into science fiction and fantasy, this book is the perfect read. Within its pages, you will find the story of a relatable character, centered around themes we all experience: love, hope, and friendship.
