Children are amazing and they are capable of such wonderful things. I was so impressed to discover that this wonderful book has been written and illustrated by an eight-year-old. The story brings together several important themes, including the one of friendship, and the illustrations are just darling. My daughter loved the book, and she was so eager to join the treasure hunt, along the cute characters of the story. There is so much detail to the story, both in the text and illustrations, that it’s simple to say… this book is a real treasure to have in your home library.
My opinion:
We read this adorable story at bedtime, having the time of our lives. My daughter fell in love with the characters, with Fox being her favorite. It was so great to see everyone join forces to find the treasures. I am sure you are curious to discover what the treasure was, but you will have to read the book to find out. What I found is that the story appeals to both children and adults alike, with such an emotional ending, guaranteed to make you shed a tear or two. There are so many wonderful lessons integrated into the story, with the illustrations bringing the entire narrative to life. Amazing!
Even though the story is written by a child, it has depth and beauty, and it touches on so many valuable emotions. I would love to see the story continued, maybe Fox and her friends could have different adventures, that would be so amazing. It is also worth mentioning that the treasure hunt in itself is a symbol of childhood, and I think this is one of the main reasons why adults will love this story as well. As always, books bring children and parents together. And when the book comes from such a brilliant young mind, that is even better.
Verdict:
Yes to more books written by talented children! My six-year-old loved this story and I felt exactly the same! We were so impressed with both the story and the illustrations, following Fox and her friends in their adventures, wishing we could join their treasure hunt. There are many important lessons to be learned sprinkled throughout the story, but the main message revolves around friendship and how working as a team is always better. And don’t get me started on the beautiful ending, you will love it!
